Jane Anne Staw

After working through my own writer’s block, I am now an instructor of writing in the Masters in Writing Program at the University of San Francisco and at the University of California at Berkeley Extension School. I have taught at Stanford University and the University of Iowa as well. In addition to teaching, I work privately with writers to help them overcome blocks, focus on new audiences and envision and complete essays, academic articles and books.

My books include: PARSNIPS IN THE SNOW: TALKS WITH MIDWESTERN GARDENERS (with Mary Swander, University of Iowa Press, 1990) and UNSTUCK: A SUPPORTIVE AND PRACTICAL GUIDE TO WORKING THROUGH WRITER’S BLOCK (St. Martin’s, 2003)
